Winter Wonderland Client Shoppe 2020

December 8 – December 18, 2020

Now looking for individuals, groups or organizations to support this event through donated gift items!

While it will be a little different this year, the idea remains the same –  to spread joy and love to those who need it most.

Each year, dedicated volunteers and generous donors come together to help struggling Mutual Ground and Breaking Free client families celebrate the holidays with gifts for their loved ones.

Allowing for social distancing, we will be holding the event at Breaking Free in Aurora, extending the duration of the event to allow for social distancing, offering one-way traffic through the shoppe, and limiting the number of clients and volunteers at one-time.

Santa’s Workshop 2019 served a record-number 130 families, including 175 adults and 287 children! That totaled 462 individuals who had presents to open during the holidays! We received donations from 40 community groups and organizations; organized, sorted and stocked thousands of donated items; served hot cocoa and cookies; provided kids craft activities; gifted more than $2,500 in gift cards; and even had Santa visit! More than 200 volunteers helped run this event, including 14 volunteer groups. These volunteers left with a sense of fulfillment that they had made a difference in the lives of many families.

One young client had NEVER picked out a gift for his mother before. He was SO excited to give her the gift, that he could not wait until Christmas to give it to her. She opened it the night of Santa’s Workshop.
