Our intervention programs break the cycle of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
Our intervention services are free of charge. If you are a domestic violence or sexual assault victim, here are a few suggested steps to put you on a path to where the healing can begin.
If you feel that you are in immediate danger, call 911.
If you would like to speak with someone at Mutual Ground, call our 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline at 630-897-0080 or our Sexual Assault Hotline at 630-897-8383.
Spanish speaking advocates are available—we offer bicultural/bilingual services to anyone who reaches out to us.
Getting out of an awful situation requires great support.
Our approach to intervention begins with either a walk-in visit by you or a phone call to our domestic violence or sexual abuse hotlines.
We want to make it easy for you to reach out!
Our trained Mutual Ground Crisis Intervention Advocates are available to speak with you 24 hours a day and they will help determine which of our services are most appropriate for your situation. You are NOT alone—over the course of a year, we provide options and referrals for almost 1,500 victims of domestic violence.
Many of our clients call several times before taking any action—so don’t be afraid to start a conversation with us.
English and Spanish speaking advocates are available to provide crisis intervention, information, safety planning and referrals to other agencies.
When you and your children are in danger and have no other support system in place, we provide a safe haven at our 28-bed emergency shelter—we can also arrange accommodations for any family pets.
Our Mutual Ground Hospital Advocates provide support services at three area hospitals for the victims of domestic violence or sexual assault.
Our Court Advocates will help you obtain orders of protection, provide transportation to court and stand beside you for emotional support throughout the hearing.
